Steinhause Elected Vice Chairman Nymex - Five Others To Board Positions

The members of the New York Mercantile Exchange has elected Mitchell Steinhause as vice chairman and the following Exchange members to other positions on the Exchange board of directors: Richard Saitta, Neil Citrone, David Greenberg, Jesse Harte, and Scott Hess.
Program Trading Averaged 23 Percent Of NYSE Volume During Mar. 13 - Mar. 17

The New York Stock Exchange today released its weekly program-trading data submitted by its member firms. The report includes trading in all markets as reported to the NYSE for Mar. 13-17. This included program trading associated with the March 17 quarterly expiration of stock-index options and futures. The data indicated that during Mar. 13-17, program trading amounted to 23.0 percent of NYSE average daily volume of 1,241.4 million shares, or 285.9 million shares a day.

On March 13, OME RSS3 futures opened slightly easier on long-liquidation and selling by bears due to the yen's strength. On March 13, despite the yen's strength, OME Aluminium Futures opened slightly firmer with distant January contract at 171.9 yen, up 1.0 yen from the last Friday's close on hort-covering as LME three-month aluminium recovered the $1,600 level. On March 16, distant January contract advanced to 173.0 yen on short-covering as LME Aluminium rose further following the firmer tone in the copper market. OM Launches Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs)

XACTOMX is the name of a completely new fund product, an index fund with units intended for trading on the OM Stockholm Exchange's new Fund Market by the summer. XACTOMX is based on the OMX index, Sweden's leading equity index, and reflects the performance of the 30 most-traded equities on the OM Stockholm Exchange. OM has filed an application with the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finansinspektionen) for authorisation to provide fund management services.
Nymex To Extend Times For April Crude Oil EFPS And Delivery Notices

The New York Mercantile Exchange announced yesterday that, due to systems problems, it will extend the deadline for posting EFPs for the April 2000 light, sweet crude oil futures contract from 2:00 P.M. to 5:15 P.M., and the deadline for delivery notices will be extended from 3:00 P.M. today to 10:00 A.M. today.

Deutsche Börse and EuroMTS Ltd. have today signed a Letter of Intent regarding the distribution of EuroMTS real time market data. Under this agreement, the Information Products division of Deutsche Börse will distribute real time market data for Euro denominated fixed income benchmarks supplied by EuroMTS on an exclusive basis.
