  • CME To List Options On Agency Notes Beginning April 10

    The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) will offer options on its new 5- and 10-year agency note futures contracts with the start of trading on Monday, April 10. Since their launch on March 14, CME agency futures have traded actively, with broad-based participation by the dealer community, hedge funds, proprietary trading groups, and local traders.

  • Central Bank Of Iceland Weekly Repo Auction, 4. April 2000

    The Central Bank of Iceland held a weekly auction of repurchase agreements on April 4 of the standard maturity of 14 days. The auction was a fixed rate one at 10.1 per cent p.a. Offers were made for a total amount of 18.1 billion krónur resulting in repurchase contracts for that amount.

  • LIFFE Trades £14 Trillion Worth Of Contracts For First Quarter 2000

    The London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (LIFFE) traded an average daily nominal value of £223 billion (357 billion) in March 2000 and traded £14 trillion for the first quarter, maintaining its position as the largest exchange in Europe by value.

  • Swedish Stock Exchange Trading To Be Exempt From VAT

    The cost of equity trading in Sweden on the OM Stockholm Exchange is set to fall following a decision by the Stockholm County Tax Authority on Friday to remove the value added tax (VAT) requirement on equity trading on the Exchange. The decision will reinforce the OM Stockholm Exchange's position as one of Europe's most cost-effective stock exchange. Furthermore, it will lead to competitive neutrality with most of the other exchanges in the European Union.
