Chicago's four financial exchanges jointly announced that their markets will be closed Wed., Sep. 12, in recognition of the tragic events that took place in the United States today. Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME), the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and the Chicago Stock Exchange (CHX) will close their open outcry and electronic trading markets tomorrow, following curtailed trading activity today. Chicago Mercantile Inc. (CME) announced that floor trading of its interest rate, foreign exchange and commodity markets and its Nikei 225 equity index futures and options contracts will resume at their normal times tomorrow, Sept. 13. Electronic markets will re-open at the same time as open outcry.

After closing its markets on Wednesday, September 12, out of respect for the victims of the tragic events in New York City and Washington, D.C., the Chicago Board of Trade announced today that it will reopen its open outcry and electronic trading systems on Thursday, September 13. All times are Chicago times.

CBOT Crop Report Briefing Rescheduled For September 14

The Chicago Board of Trade rescheduled for September 14 the next in its series of press briefings for the media and members related to crop production and supply/demand reports, following release of the reports by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The briefing, presented by the Communications Department, will be held on the agricultural trading floor apron starting at 8:15 a.m. (Chicago time), prior to the start of trading, and will be webcast via MemberNet, the member web site.

Botswana Stock Exchange Closed Today

The BSE is closed for trading today following yesterday's attacks in the US. The BSE is located in the United Nations office building which has been shut down for security reasons. We understand that the situation will be reviewed tomorrow morning.
