Tokyo International Financial Futures Exchange And LIFFE Strengthen Strategic Partnership

Today the Tokyo International Financial Futures Exchange (TIFFE), and the London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (LIFFE) announce their intention to strengthen their strategic partnership, following TIFFE's decision to select LIFFE CONNECT ™, LIFFE's electronic trading system, as TIFFE's next generation trading system.

The Tokyo International Financial Futures Exchange (TIFFE) announces today a decision to upgrade its trading and clearing systems. LIFFE CONNECT ™, developed by the London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (LIFFE), is selected as the next generation trading platform. Fujitsu Limited (Fujitsu) will be undertaking the development of the clearing and settlement system. The launch of the new system is targeted for the end of 2002.

Nasdaq To Launch Second Phase Of SuperSoes Automated Order Execution System On Monday - Includes 80 Securities - All Nasdaq National Market Securities To Be Fully Implemented By July 30

The Nasdaq Stock Market® today announced that it will implement the second phase of its new automated order execution system, entitled SuperSoesSM, on Monday, July 16, 2001. Eighty securities will be included in the second phase of implementation.

Turnover In June 2001 the total turnover on all market segments of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange amounted to SIT 31.82 billion, which was 22% higher than the month before and more than SIT 8 billion (or 36%) above the June 2000 figure. In the first half of this year the total turnover on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange reached SIT 145.49 billion, which was almost 16% or SIT 20 billion more than a year before.

CBOE Announces New S&P 100® Index Options With European-Style Exercise (XEO)(sm) To Launch July 23, 2001

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), the world's largest options exchange, today announced it plans to launch on July 23, a new S&P 100 Index option with European-style exercise, XEO. A European-style option may be exercised only during a specified period of time just prior to its expiration. XEO options are based on the S&P 100 Index, will be cash settled and may only be exercised at expiration.
Securities And Exchange Commission: Stephen M. Cutler Named Acting Director Of The Division of Enforcement

Securities and Exchange Commission Acting Chairman Laura S. Unger today named Stephen M. Cutler Acting Director of the Division of Enforcement. Mr. Cutler has served as the Division's Deputy Director since January 1999. Mr. Cutler succeeds Richard H. Walker, who recently announced his intention to leave the Commission after assisting with the transition to a new Chairman.

Volume for June 2001 was the highest ever recorded for that month on the IPE. Total traded volume hit 2,394,687 lots compared to the 2,273,817 lots traded in June 2000. The increase in volume shows a year on year growth rate for June of 5% or 120,015 lots.
