Sydney Futures Exchange Clearing House Implements An Exchange Settlement Account

Today, Monday 28 February 2000, the Sydney Futures Exchange Clearing House (SFECH) successfully implemented an Exchange Settlement Account (ESA) with the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA). SFECH has received the first such approval under the RBA's new access arrangements.

Minneapolis Wheat Posts Record Daily Trading Volume

Hard red spring wheat futures posted record trading volume on Friday, February 25, 2000. A total of 11,450 contracts traded. The previous daily volume record, established June 3, 1999, was 11,243 contracts. "With the rain beginning last week, wheat markets are taking out the weather premium that's been built in lately due to dry conditions across the Great Plains and Upper Midwest. Frankfurt Stock Exchange Can Extend Trading Hours Until 8:00 p.m.

On Monday, the Exchange Council approved an extension of the trading hours at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (FWB) for trading on the floor and in Xetra® from the current 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Frankfurt time) to 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The general management of FWB will be authorized to extend the trading hours to 8:00 p.m. as a matter of principle starting June 2, 2000; shorter trading hours are possible for some segments. CME Sets March 14 Launch Date For Agency Note Futures Contracts

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) today announced it would begin trading in its new 5- and 10-year agency note futures contracts on Tuesday, March 14, pending approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

Changes In The General Management Of Frankfurt Stock Exchange

The FWB Exchange Council has, moreover, appointed Volker Potthoff, designated member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Börse AG, as FWB general manager effective April 1. Dr. Werner G. Seifert, Dr. Reto Francioni and Jürgen Blitz will vacate their posts as general managers as of the same date. Werner G. Seifert will be focusing on the reorganization of Deutsche Börse AG. CBOE Introduces Real Time Quotes On Its Web Site

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that real time quotes for stocks and options are now available on the CBOE web site for a nominal monthly fee. Effective immediately, CBOE is providing unlimited access to real time quotes on stocks listed on the NYSE, NASDAQ and AMEX as well as options' quotes from the four U.S. options exchanges. The fee for this service is $7 per month plus a $1 exchange fee for equity quotes from NYSE, AMEX and option quotes from OPRA, and a $2 fee f
