Nymex To Increase Gasoline Margins

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., announced today that it will increase the margins on the September 2003 unleaded gasoline futures contract and the August 2003 New York harbor gasoline calendar swap futures contract and unleaded gasoline crude oil crack spread contract at the close of business tomorrow.

The total turnover of all market segments of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) in July 2003 amounted to SIT 22.6 billion, which was by 4.8% less than a month before and by 11.5% less if compared to this year's monthly average. With regard to July 2002, the turnover decreased by 43.7% (or by SIT 17.5 billion).

For the period from August 18th, 2003, to August 22nd, 2003, total trading volume on FORTS (Futures & Options on the RTS) Derivatives Market grew by 31% in rubles and 28% in contracts and reached 614 thousand contracts and 4 924 million rubles. Total open interest as of August 22nd, 2003, grew 7% in rubles and 3% in contracts and reached 4 003 million rubles and 544 thousand contracts (as of August 15th, 2003, the numbers were 3 743 million rubles and 3 286 thousand contracts).
