S&P Emerging Markets Database Index Announcement - South Africa- IWF Change for Telkom South Africa (Eff. 07/08/2004)

Effective July 8, 2004, S&P EMDB will increase the IWF for Telkom South Africa (S&P/EMDB Code 696648.1 / SEDOL 6588577), an S&P/IFCI and S&P/IFCG Index constituent, from 0.3070 to 0.4560. The new IWF reflects Thintana‘s sale of 14.9% of their stake in the Telkom South Africa. If the above IWF change had occurred on June 23, 2004, the weight of Telkom South Africa in the S&P/IFCI Indonesia Index would have increased to 2.97% from 2.00%.

New York Mercantile Exchange Will Reduce Spot Month Position Limits For Copper Futures

New Names For All Subsidiaries Of Bursa Malaysia

Bursa Malaysia Berhad have received approval on all new names for its subsidiaries from the relevant authorities. The change in the name for the exchange holding company and the securities exchange which was announced on 20 April 2004 and following that, the new names for its subsidiary companies is to better reflect the business and services offered by the demutualised exchange.

NASD Fines Five Firms $625,000 For Supervisory System Failures Relating To Late Trading Of Mutual Funds - Sanctions Part Of Ongoing NASD Efforts To Curb Abusive Trading

NASD announced today that it has censured and fined five brokerage firms a total of $625,000 for failing to implement adequate supervisory systems and written procedures reasonably designed to detect and prevent "late trading" of mutual funds.

The Swedish investment firm Hagströmer & Qviberg Fondkommission AB will start direct trading in shares on Oslo Børs from Monday 28 June. This brings the number of investment firms with remote membership of Oslo Børs to 16 out of a total of 40 members.
