Lithuania To Be Invited To The Baltic Index

The index will be launched along with a new trading platform in Estonia and Latvia. It will be the first step in creating an integrated Nordic and Baltic marketplace, encompassing seven exchanges – Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Estonia and Latvia – trading on the same platform.

Euronext: Bgold Index-Adjustment

Following the take-over of the Company Avgold by the Company Harmony Ltd., the BGold Index compiler has decided to remove the company Avgold from the index and to increase the weight of the company Harmony in the Index in such a way as to maintain the representativity of the index.

Eurex US Recognised As Overseas Investment Exchange

Financial Secretary Ruth Kelly has today given the Financial Services Authority (FSA) leave under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 to recognise Eurex US as a recognised overseas investment exchange.

Eurex US Obtains Recognised Status From UK Regulator Financial Services Authority

All Eurex US participants based in the United Kingdom can now trade directly on the new fully-electronic U.S. futures and options exchange following approval by regulatory authorities in the UK. With the granting of recognised status by the Financial Services Authority and approval of the Office of Fair Trading and the U.K. Treasury, Eurex US is now a Recognised Overseas Investment Exchange in accordance with UK law.

UK’s Financial Services Authority Fines Carr Sheppards Crosthwaite £500,000 For Compliance Failings

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) today fined Carr Sheppards Crosthwaite (CSC) Limited £500,000 for serious failings in its compliance function, leading to breaches of the FSA Principles and Rules. The failings arose because CSC failed to keep fully up to date with regulatory developments after the creation of the FSA. Most of the failings were identified by the FSA during the course of visits in July and August 2003.
