Standard & Poor’s Announces Changes To U.S. Indices

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes to the S&P 500, S&P MidCap 400 and S&P SmallCap 600 indices after the close of trading on Friday, July 1: S&P MidCap 400 constituent Constellation Brands Inc. (NYSE:STZ) will replace Great Lakes Chemical Corp. (NYSE:GLK) in the S&P 500. Great Lakes Chemical is being acquired by S&P MidCap 400 constituent Crompton Corp. The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced the filing of civil fraud charges against five individuals in connection with the initial public offering of NewAlliance Bancshares, Inc. Pacific Exchange To Trade Options In Pennies - Move Will Benefit Options Investors

The Pacific Exchange (PCX) announced today that it will begin quoting and trading all listed options in penny increments. Currently, all options exchanges are required to quote in nickels and dimes. The change requires approval by the Securities and Exchange Commission. The Exchange will submit the necessary rule filing soon, and hopes to receive expedited approval from the SEC so that it can begin trading options in pennies in the fourth quarter of 2005.

The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. (NASDAQ®; NASDAQ: NDAQ) today announced the NASDAQ Closing Cross had a record day as it was used to calculate the entire family of Russell Indexes during their annual reconstitution on Friday, June 24th. London Stock Exchange’s CRE Expands In Europe - First Non-UK Research Agencies And Corporates Sign Up

Leading European investment research agencies Vigeo and EthiFinance will, from this week, become the first non UK-based research agencies to use the London Stock Exchange’s Corporate Responsibility Exchange (CRE), the online disclosure tool for non-financial company information launched in October 2004. The Exchange also announced today that nine international companies have signed up to use the CRE.
