SEC Conducts Major Securities Market Oversight Training Program in East Africa

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced today that it has completed its first major Capital Market Development and Oversight Training Program in East Africa, held in Kampala, Uganda, from February 26-March 2. The week long program included intensive training on methods for conducting investigations of market misconduct, insider trading financial fraud, and market manipulation. The Philadelphia Stock Exchange announced today that equity option volume in February rose 41.02% when 24,124,606 contracts compared to the same year-ago period when 17,107,136 contracts traded. Equity option volume in February decreased 12.66% when compared to the previous month when 27,620,859 contracts traded. Market share for equity options in February was 14.48% when 24,124,606 contracts traded. PHLX market share in February without ex-dividend volume was 12.59 % when 20,975,150 contracts

The New York Board of Trade (NYBOT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE), established an electronic trading record in its agricultural futures products of 98,249 contracts on Friday, March 2. In addition, electronic trading represented a record 62% of total agricultural commodity futures volume.
