The Borsa Italiana Group Will Observe Three Minutes Of Silence On January 5 To Commemorate The Victims Of The Tsunami Disaster
Borsa Italiana, CC&G (Cassa di Compensazione e Garanzia), Monte Titoli as well as the other Borsa Italiana Group subsidiaries will join the Federation of European Securities Exchanges (FESE) members to commemorate the victims of the countries affected by the tsunami disaster on 26 December 2005 by observing three minutes of silence at 12.00 (CET) on January, 5. The trading systems will remain open.

Trading on the equity market reached new highs in 2004, and already at the beginning of the year, there were indications that the previous record set in 2000 would be broken. This happened as early as the beginning of October.

OneChicago Volume Up 19% For The Year
OneChicago, LLC today announced that 1,922,726 security futures contracts traded at the Exchange in 2004 - its second full year of trading - which is 19% higher than 2003 volume. Open interest stood at 154,621 contracts as of December 31.

New York Stock Exchange Announces $1 Million Donation To Tsunami Relief Efforts
The New York Stock Exchange Foundation, the private philanthropic foundation established by the NYSE, announces it is giving $1 million to support the relief efforts associated with the South Asia tsunami. The donation on behalf of NYSE members and employees is being evenly divided between Save the Children Federation Inc. and AmeriCares Foundation Inc.

Van der Moolen Holding N.V. (AEX:VDMN)(NYSE:VDM) is pleased to announce that Leo J. Pruis will join our firm on January 3, 2005.
