Korea Exchange: USD Futures Exceed 10 Million Contracts In Accumulated Trading Volume
The accumulated trading volume of USD Futures reached 10,001,996 contracts on August 12, 2005, exceeding the 10 million contract mark 6 years and 4 months after the listing of the contract.

Korea Exchange Develops A Bond Index
Korea Exchange (KRX) plans to launch a new index which will give a fair overview of the bond market in March 2006. KRX has outsourced the index development project to Korea Investors Service Inc, a leading domestic rating agency.

Japan's Financial Services Agency Announcement Of The English Version Of The Guideline For Financial Conglomerate Supervision
The Financial Services Agency (FSA) announced ''the Guideline for Financial Conglomerate Supervision'' on June 24, 2005, and clarified viewpoints for supervision of financial conglomerates and focal points for the administration of supervision of them. The FSA has made the English version of the Guideline available.

CBOE Sets New S&P 500 Index Options (SPX) Trading Record - Friday's Volume Of 716,375 Contracts Is Busiest Day Ever - Open Interest Stood At 7.34 Million Friday Morning
The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced that trading volume in options on the Standard & Poor's 500 Index options (SPX) set a new record today, Friday, August 19, with approximately 716,375 contracts reported. The previous record of 518,225 was set earlier this year, on April 14th. Average daily volume in SPX options for the year so far has been 255,888 contracts. Open interest in SPX options stood at 7,340,141 contracts (2,646,147 calls and 4,693,994 puts) at CBOE this morning.

American Stock Exchange Reports Decrease In Short Interest
The American Stock Exchange (Amex) member and non-member organizations today reported short interest of 805,787,478 shares as of the August 15, 2005 settlement date, a decrease of 8,085,639 from the 813,873,117 (adjusted) shares reported in mid-July. The August figure represents trades through August 10, 2005.

Thailands mai-Listed Firms Collectively Recorded THB551 Mln. Net Profits and 28% Sales Growth in H1/2005
The 26 listed companies on the mai (Market for Alternative Investment) recently announced their H1/2005 operational performances. In this period, they collectively recorded THB551 mln. (approx. SWX Swiss Exchange: Favourable Experience With Disclosure Of Management Transactions
The SWX Swiss Exchange has drawn a positive balance following the implementation of the new disclosure obligations pertaining to management transactions. Between the 1 July effective date and 17 August 2005, SWX has received 201 individual notifications from issuers that were subsequently published. In addition, 46 unpublished omnibus notifications were submitted for the calendar month of July.
