    The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) yesterday announced new implementation dates for the Regulation NMS order protection rule and access rule, and for one of the market data rules.   • S&P 500 Index (SPX) Sets New Trading Record At CBOE - Thursday's Volume Tops One Million Contracts For First Time Ever

    The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that cleared trading volume in options on the S&P 500 Index (SPX) totaled 1,079,425 contracts on Thursday, May 18th. This marks the first time ever that single day volume in SPX options has topped the one million contract threshold. The previous SPX single day volume record was set on February 17, 2006 when 943,566 contracts were traded at CBOE.

  • NYMEX To Change Underfying Contract For NYMEX miNY<SUP>TM</SUP> Unleaded Gasoline Futures

    The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. announced today that the NYMEX miNY gasoline futures contract will be based on the reformulated blendstock for oxygen blending (RBOB) gasoline futures contract, beginning with the July 2006 contract. The contract price will no longer be based on the HU gasoline futures contract.
