Thank you, Christopher [Mirabile]. Good morning and thank you to our assembled Committee members and panelists for your participation in this first gathering of the Investor Advisory Committee for 2024. It is wonderful to see you all here in person. As you know, this is also, sadly, the last meeting of the IAC for Christopher Mirabile, Cien Asoera, Ted Daniels, Elissa Germaine, and Lori Lucas. Being selected as a member of the Investor Advisory Committee is an honor, but it comes at a cost. I appreciate each of you for the time and energy that you have dedicated to the IAC during your terms.

Brazilian OTC Energy Achieves Volume Record In February

BBCE - the Brazilian OTC Energy and the leading energy market infrastructure of the country - today announced robust performance in power physicals. The Company achieved its best February power volume with 63,7 TWh, up 234% from February 2023.

Nodal Exchange Achieves February Trading Records As Power Market Grows 30% And Environmental Market Grows 133%

Nodal Exchange today announced it achieved a calendar month trading record for February 2024 with 379.1 million MWh of traded power futures volume in the month, up 30% from the prior year. This represents Nodal Exchange’s highest volume month ever, surpassing Nodal’s prior monthly record volume of 325.2 million MWh of traded power futures volume in February 2022.  Nodal continues to be the market leader in North American power futures having the majority of the open interest with 1.35 billion MWh at the end of February.

Basel Committee Consults On Measures To Address Window-Dressing In The G-SIB Framework

• The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision has published a consultation on potential measures to address window-dressing behaviour in the context of the framework for global systemically important banks (G-SIBs).
• Potential revisions would require banks to report and disclose the indicators used to calculate G-SIB scores based on average values over the reporting year, rather than year-end values.
• The Committee invites comments on the consultation by 7 June 2024.

Canadians Urged To Remain Vigilant In The Face Of Rising Investment Fraud

To mark Fraud Prevention Month, the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) is reminding Canadians to remain vigilant about potential investment scams and misleading advice. While online financial advice is readily available, the CSA encourages investors to verify information sources and work with registered professionals to reduce the risk of becoming victims of fraud.
