  • Mitchells & Butlers To Enter FTSE 100 After Takeover Of Scottish Power

    FTSE Group (FTSE), the company which calculates and manages the FTSE 100 index, today confirms that energy company Scottish Power is to be deleted from the FTSE 100, after its takeover by Spanish company Iberdrola. In the second change to the FTSE 100 this week, Mitchells & Butlers, the managed pub operator, will replace Scottish Power in the blue chip index at the close of trading today.

  • HKEx Announces Senior Appointment And New Senior Executive In Its Listing Division

    Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) announced today (Thursday) that Michael Cheng will join HKEx in June as Senior Vice President to lead the Listing Policy and Mainland China Affairs Department of the Listing Division, and Bonnie Chan joined HKEx on 16 April as Senior Vice President in charge of the Division's IPO (initial public offering) Transactions Department (Ms Chan's appointment was announced earlier).

  • BM&F Reaches Historic Record Of 2 Billion Contracts Traded

    The Brazilian Mercantile & Futures reached the historic record of 2 billion contracts traded, on Monday, April the 16th*. The record was reached at 12:16pm, in the Ibovespa futures market, between the brokerage houses Ágora (buyer) and Fator (seller). The four traders responsible for the trade were: Amauri Simões de Almeida Jr. and Rodrigo Mancini (Ágora) and Fernando Jorge Carneiro Filho and Adolfo Nunes Correa Jr. (Fator).

    DGCX set a new record yesterday for the highest number of contracts traded per day since inception. A total of 9372 contracts valued at $267.20 million were traded surpassing the previous record of 7634 contracts achieved on February 27, 2007. The gold futures traded on the Exchange also clocked their highest-ever traded volume in a day at 8527 contracts, exceeding the previous record of 6988 contracts by a big margin.
