NYMEX Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: NMX), the parent company of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., the world's largest physical commodities futures and options exchange, announced today that average daily volume in October 2007 was 1.584 million contracts, a 30% increase from 1.221 million contracts per day in October 2006.

Merger Of Oslo Børs Holding ASA And VPS Holding ASA

Oslo Børs Holding ASA and VPS Holding ASA received approval of the merger from the Ministry of Finance on 8 November 2007. In connection with the approval, certain conditions were stipulated for the merger, and these must be evaluated and resolved before the merger can be carried out. Some of the matters involved also require prior approval by Kredittilsynet (the Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway).

Trading Volume Of Futures Contracts On RTS Index Has Made Up 1,6 Billion Dollars

On November 12, 2007 on FORTS (Futures and Options on RTS) there was registered a record trading volume of futures on RTS Index. On a single trading day the total trading volume of this derivative was 39 billion rubles or 353 048 contracts. The previous record in trading volume of futures on RTS Index was registered on November 1, 2007 and made up 37,5 billion rubles or 336 468 contracts.
