The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. ("NASDAQ") (Nasdaq:NDAQ) announced yesterday the results of the semi-annual evaluation of the NASDAQ(r) Clean Edge(r) U.S. Index (Nasdaq:CLEN) and the NASDAQ Clean Edge U.S. Liquid Series Index (Nasdaq:CELS) (the "Indexes"), which will become effective with the market open on Monday, March 19, 2007.

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced that reported volume in options on the CBOE Volatility Index, "VIX" (ticker symbol VIX), was 230,847 contracts today beating the previous record of 162,856 contracts traded on August 14, 2006. VIX is the widely disseminated benchmark index of market volatility and investor sentiment, sometimes referred to as the market's "fear gauge."

CBOE Records Busiest Week Ever For Trading In Options On The S&P 500 Index (SPX) - Volume of More Than 4.35 Million Contracts Breaks Record Set Last May

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced that the week of March 5 through 9, 2007 was the busiest week on record for trading in options on the S&P 500 Index (SPX), with reported volume of more than 4.35 million contracts. The previous weekly record for SPX volume was 4.03 million contracts traded, set during the week of May 15 to 19, 2006.
