ASX Group Monthly Activity Report - April 2009

April 2009 saw a second consecutive month of recovering equity values in ASX listed stocks. Credit market conditions eased somewhat, both in Australia and abroad during April, and corporate bond issuance, particularly by Australian banks, has been robust. Issuance in Government bond markets has also remained strong as governments, both in Australia and other developed economies, have tapped debt markets to finance deteriorating budget positions.
NZX: Capital Raised In First Four Months Of 2009 At Record Levels

NZX Operating Metrics for April released today show $3.199 billion in capital has been raised in the first four months of 2009, already higher than the $3.113 billion raised for the entire 2008 year.

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Monday, May 4, 2009: The shares of Reece Energy Exploration Corp. (TSXVN:RXR) will be removed from the index. The shares of the company have been acquired by Penn West Petroleum Ltd. The shares of Dynamite Resources Ltd. (TSXVN:DNR) will trade under the new ticker symbol DNR.A. There is no consolidation of capital.

The consolidated net after tax profits of HELEX for Q1 2009 amounted to euro 5.8m vs. euro 18.4m in Q1 2008, a 68% reduction. The consolidated turnover of the Group dropped by 61%, to euro 12.8m vs. euro 32.8m in Q1 2008.
