CFTC Releases The New Quarterly Publication Of Index Investment Data For December 31, 2007, Through June 30, 2009

Quarterly Index Investment Data Swap dealers and index traders that receive a “special call” (under CFTC Rule 18.05) must file monthly reports with the CFTC's Division of Marker Oversight within 5 business days after the end of the month. Selected quarterly data from those reports is published below. Those data show the national values and the equivalent number of futures contracts for all U.S. markets with more than $0.5 billion

CFTC Charges Illinois Resident And One Of His Companies With Fraud In $6 Million Commodity Pool

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that it sued Schaumburg, Illinois-based Maize Capital Management, LLC (Maize Capital) and its chief operating officer Scott M. Ross, for solicitation fraud and issuing false statements involving a $6 million commodity pool. Another of Ross’ companies, Maize Asset Management, LLC (Maize Asset), along with Maize Capital and Ross, was charged with improper handling of customer funds.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced that it obtained an emergency federal court order freezing the assets of defendants Beau Diamond and his company, Diamond Ventures LLC, both of Sarasota, Fla. The court?s order also prohibits the destruction of documents and grants the CFTC immediate access to defendants? documents.
