Eurex: Rise Of Traded Contracts By 32 Percent - February 2008 With 179 Million Contracts Traded
The international derivatives exchange Eurex traded 179 million contracts in February, an increase of 32 percent as against February 2007 (136 million contracts). The average daily turnover in February was 8.5 million contracts compared with 6.7 million in February 2007. Open interest has increased further and reached a value of 134.4 million contracts at the end of February, as against almost 128 million at the end of January 2008.

Deutsche Börse: Xetra Trades Up By 34 Percent In February - Total Volume Of €217 billion Traded On All Stock Exchanges In Germany
In February €190.7 billion were turned over on Xetra and thus reaching previous year’s level. The number of trades executed on Xetra was up by 34 percent reaching 17.3 million transactions (February 2007: 12.9 million). On Xetra and the Frankfurt floor €188 billion were turned over in German equities and €8.4 billion in foreign shares. KCBT Sees Second-largest February Trading Volume - KCBT February Trading Volume Second Largest For Calendar Month
The Kansas City Board of Trade trading volume for the month of February was the second largest for that calendar month in the history of the exchange. Total exchange volume amounted to 455,112 contracts, an increase of 25.1 percent compared to last February and 29 percent compared to last month. February total monthly volume is second only to February 2006, which saw trading volume of 547,690 contracts.

Strong Growth Continues At MGEX, Record February Volume
Unprecedented volatility and record prices continued in the Minneapolis Grain Exchange’s (MGEX or Exchange) Hard Red Spring Wheat contract contributing to another record-setting volume month. February trading closed with an all-time high volume for February of 190,327 contracts surpassing the previous February volume record set in 2005 of 175,748 contracts by 8.3 percent. This is the 4th highest volume month in MGEX history and the fifth month in a row to post a new volume record.

FESE Response To The PCAOB Policy Proposal On Inspections Of Foreign Registered Public Accounting Firms
In the context of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) request for public comment on proposed policy statement regarding the implementation of the rule on inspections of foreign registered public accounting firms, FESE has written a letter to the PCAOB to express its views. FESE members strongly welcome this new policy that would give the PCAOB Board the possibility of placing full reliance on the inspections programs of qualified non-U.S. auditor oversight entities.
