However, the combination of falling share prices and falling interest rates has had a negative effect on the companies' capital.

Average daily trading volume – 514,339,546 shares – and U.S. equity market share – 5.17 percent – for the quarter reached all-time highs for the firm, led by the 1,055,962,776 shares traded, including 122,154,334 in the Instinet CBXTM dark pool, on September 18.
