BATS BYX Exchange Completes Rollout, Now Trading All Symbols

BATS Global Markets today announced that its new US equities exchange, BATS BYX Exchange, completed its rollout Friday, October 22. BATS BYX Exchange averaged volume of 27 million shares per day in the first five trading sessions since completion and hit a new single day record of 37.5 million shares on Thursday, October 28, 2010.

The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. ("NASDAQ OMX(R)") (Nasdaq:NDAQ) reported solid results for the third quarter of 2010. Equity turnover decreases by 12.8% to €35.5 billion The market statistics for Q3 2010 show that equity turnover decreased by 12.8% to €35.5 billion in the first nine months of 2010 [2009 ytd: €40.8 billion]. Trading volumes in equities quoted on the Exchange [461,512] during the third quarter and the daily average number of trades [6,993] were 24.2% lower than the figures recorded in Q3 2009 [608,636 and 9,222 respectively].
