Tokyo Commodity Exchange Appoints Director Nominees For The Next Term

Tokyo Commodity Exchange, Inc. (“TOCOM” or the “Exchange”) today announced the directorate nominees for the next term as the current term of the ten members of the board of directors is to terminate at the close of the second annual shareholders meeting on June 21, 2011. Below is the list of the nominees and they are scheduled to be appointed officially as a result of a resolution at above referenced meeting.

SIFMA, Other Trade Associations Call On CFTC, SEC To Provide Relief, Legal Certainty On Self-Operative Derivatives Provisions Of Dodd-Frank Act

SIFMA, along with a number of other trade associations, today submitted comment letters to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) requesting regulatory relief from and legal certainty for a number of derivatives-related provisions of the Dodd-Frank Act that would arguably become self-operative without rulemaking on July 16, 2011.

Members of the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) today published for comment proposed Multilateral Instrument 51-105 Issuers Quoted in the U.S. Over-the-Counter Markets. The proposed over-the-counter (OTC) rule builds on BC Instrument 51-509 Issuers Quoted in the U.S. Over-the-Counter Markets and addresses the harm caused to the reputation of capital markets in Canada by market participants with strong connections to Canadian jurisdictions who engage in abusive activities through the over-the-counter markets in the United States.
