SEC, CFTC To Hold Joint Meetings On Regulation Harmonization
The Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced that the two regulatory agencies will hold joint meetings to seek input from the public on harmonization of market regulation. President Barack Obama in June called on the two regulators to recommend changes to statutes and regulations that would eliminate differences with respect to similar types of financial instruments.

Landmark $1Billion USD Of London Metal Exchange Steel Billet Futures Traded By Industry Since Launch Last Year
The London Metal Exchange (LME) announces that $1 billion USD in steel billet has been traded on the Exchange by industry since the contract was introduced in February 2008. This equates to more than 2.2 million tonnes of steel billet in physical material.

Eurex: Agricultural Derivatives Also Available In The USA - Eurex’s New Product Segment With A Successful First Trading Month

Tokyo Grain Exchange: Daily Price Limits From August 21, 2009
The daily price limits will change from August 21, 2009. Soybeans will be reverted to 1,800yen. Raw sugar will be expanded to 1,500yen.
