In November 2011, a total of 3,287,776 trades were conducted on SIX Swiss Exchange and Scoach Switzerland. This corresponds to a month-on-month increase of 0.8%. Some 37,425,761 transactions were conducted between January and November 2011. Trading activity was thus up 15.1% on the prior-year period. The sharpest increase was recorded in the ETFs segment (+44.5%), followed by equities incl. funds, ETSFs and ETPs (+15.3%). Bonds CHF, the second-largest segment by turnover, also showed strong growth in the number of trades (+10%).

European Commission Welcomes The Top Up Of Co‑Financing Rates For Europe's Struggling Economies

Today, the Commission's proposal (IP/11/942) to provide supplementary EU co‑financing to countries facing particular difficulties in managing public debt/deficit and ensuring financial stability was agreed by the European Parliament. The agreement follows only 4 months after the Commission proposal was tabled as part of the package adopted on 1 August to increase the EU co‑financing in cohesion, fisheries and rural development policies for countries that have received financial assistance under the balance of payments support mechanism (Romania, Latvia and Hungary) or under the European Financial Stability Facility (Greece, Ireland and Portugal). The agreement by the Council, which will complete the adoption process, is expected to take place soon.

Average Daily Volume Of 10.0 Million Contracts At Eurex Group In November - Eurex KOSPI Product With New Monthly Record Volume

In November 2011, the international derivatives exchanges of Eurex Group recorded an average daily volume (ADV) of 10.0 million contracts (November 2010: 10.2 million). Of those, 7.2 million were Eurex Exchange contracts (November 2010: 7.2 million), and 2.8 million contracts (November 2010: 3.0 million) were traded at the U.S.-based International Securities Exchange (ISE). In total, 159.1 million contracts were traded at Eurex Exchange and 59.8 million at ISE.

Order book turnover on Xetra and the Xetra Frankfurt specialist trading stood at €111.6 billion in November – a slight decrease by 1.7 percent year-on-year (November 2010: €113.6 billion). Of the €111.6 billion, €106.4 billion were attributable to Xetra (nearly unchanged y-o-y, November 2010: €106.0 billion). €5.2 billion were attributable to the Xetra Frankfurt specialist trading, a 32 percent decrease y-o-y (November 2010: €7.6 billion). Order book turnover on Tradegate Exchange* totalled €2.8 billion in November.
