HKMEx Suspends Trading of MF Global

The Hong Kong Mercantile Exchange has suspended and restricted the trading of MF Global Hong Kong, and at the same time declared MF Global UK (a clearing member) to be a “defaulter”. Working with our appointed clearing house LCH Clearnet, HKMEx is following standard policy and procedures to facilitate an orderly transfer or closing out of positions. The Exchange will continue to monitor the situation.

Tokyo Commodity Exchange: On Today's Session - Gold Standard, Gold Mini And Gold Options

The Exchange suspended trading for Gold Standard, Gold Mini and Gold Options at 19:17 on November 1, 2011. Since the cause of the problem has been identified, and we confirmed that it would cause no problem for today’s trading, sessions will be open under the normal schedule.

Monetary Authority of Singapore Reiterates: Safeguarding Interests Of Investors Who Have Dealings With MF Global Singapore Is A Priority

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has been informed that there are about 1,000 contracts for differences (CFDs) accounts with MF Global Singapore (MFGS) which are active. MAS is working closely with the MFGS-appointed provisional liquidators from KPMG to safeguard investors’ interest.

CBOE Holdings Reports October 2011 Trading Volume - CBOE Holdings October Average Daily Volume Of 5.0 Million Options Contracts Increases 16% From Year Ago

CBOE Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: CBOE) today reported that October trading volume for options on theChicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and C2 Options Exchange (C2), the company's all-electronic market, combined, totaled 105.2 million contracts. Average daily volume (ADV) was 5.0 million contracts, an increase of 16 percent from October 2010 ADV of 4.3 million contracts per day.

BM&FBOVESPA: Start Of Trading For Two New ETFs On BM&FBOVESPA: IT Now ISE And IT Now IGCT

Trading starts on BM&FBOVESPA on Monday (October 31) for two new Exchange Traded Funds, (ETFs): the IT Now ISE Index Fund and the IT Now IGCT Index Fund, which respectively track the BM&FBOVESPA Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) and BM&FBOVESPA Corporate Governance Trade Index (IGCT).

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) announced that it had filed a registration application with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to operate a swaps data repository (SDR), DTCC Data Repository (U.S.) LLC, across multiple OTC derivatives asset classes.

BOX Price Improvement Activity Increases In October

In the month of October, price improved contracts on BOX Options Exchange (“BOX”) averaged 336,691 per day, which represented a 51% increase over the same period last year. Price improvement versus the prevailing NBBO for contracts submitted via BOX’s price improvement auction (“PIP”) averaged $190,247 per day, while total savings to investors this month were $4 MM. With this, BOX has saved investors over $363MM since its inception in 2004. Overall average daily trading volume on BOX in the month of October was 662,311 contracts, which represented a 68% increase over the same period last year.
