European Parliament: Parliamentary Committee Opens Its Work On Increased Budgetary Surveillance

The proposed new legislation to strengthen budgetary oversight of Eurozone countries should allow as much economic governance as possible to take place within the normal EU system, rather than outside it through international agreements, Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee MEPs unanimously said on Monday evening. Many also highlighted a risk that the legislation could undermine the democratic legitimacy of budgetary policy if the Commission were not made more accountable.

Despite posting a gain in the final month of the year, the Dow Jones Islamic Market Titans 100 Index finished 2011 down 0.83%, according to data compiled by Dow Jones Indexes. The index, which rose 0.53% in December and 5.79% in 2010, measures the performance of 100 of the world’s leading Shari’ah-compliant stocks.

NYSE Euronext Statement In Response To Media Reports

“NYSE Euronext has not yet received any official decision by the European Commission regarding the requested merger of both companies. The Commission has announced that it will make its final ruling on whether to clear the proposed merger by February 9, 2012. As a matter of policy, we cannot comment on speculation.

SIX Telekurs Strengthens Its Data Production Centers In Poland And India

SIX Telekurs has renewed and enhanced its existing outsourcing contractwith Capgemini for data production centers in Poland and India. As a consequence, it has decided to shift additional manual data input from five in-house locations to Poland and India. This partial shift of its in-house data input will affect around 70 positions at SIX Telekurs globally.
