Announcement Pursuant To Rule 703(1) Of The Listing Manual - Market Rumours About Potential Merger Between The London Stock Exchange And SGX

Singapore Exchange (SGX) wishes to make a clarification on market rumours today about a potential merger between the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and SGX. SGX has not engaged in talks with the LSE on a potential merger. However, we are open to collaborations and partnerships which may benefit our shareholders and the company. SGX will notify the market of any material developments as required under the Securities and Futures Act and the SGX-ST Listing Rules.

Securities Commission Malaysia Charges Senior Corporate Lawyer Dato’ E. Sreesanthan For Insider Trading

The Securities Commission (SC) today charged Dato’ Sreesanthan Eliathamby, a corporate lawyer who sits on the boards of several public listed companies, with seven counts of insider trading. Dato’ Sreesanthan was charged with insider trading in the shares of four listed companies between 2006 and 2008.

ASIC Consults On Retail Trading Of Commonwealth Government Securities

ASIC has released Consultation Paper 181 Retail trading in Commonwealth Government Securities(CP 181). The consultation paper will help to implement the Australian Government’s decision to facilitate retail trading of Commonwealth Government Securities (CGS) as part of fostering a deep and liquid corporate bond market. It proposes market integrity rules to provide for fair, orderly and transparent trading of depository interests in CGS traded on public exchanges.
