  • Maple And TMX Group Announce Agreements To Acquire CDS And Alpha And Extension Of Offer To TMX Group Shareholders - Extend Offer To May 31, 2012 And Outside Date To July 31, 2012

    Maple Group Acquisition Corporation ("Maple"), a corporation whose investors comprise 13 of Canada's leading financial institutions and pension funds, and TMX Group Inc. (“TMX Group”) (TSX:X) today announced that Maple has reached agreements for the acquisition by Maple of The Canadian Depository for Securities Limited (“CDS”) and of Alpha Trading Systems Inc. and Alpha Trading Limited Partnership (collectively, “Alpha”). Maple and TMX Group have also agreed to extend the outside date for completing the Maple offer to July 31, 2012 and, consistent with that, have announced an extension of the Maple offer initially to May 31, 2012.

  • Graco Shareowners Back CalPERS Proposal For Majority Vote In Board Elections

    The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) announced today that Graco shareowners strongly supported a proposal by the pension fund that advises the company to adopt a majority vote standard for board candidates in uncontested elections.  Approximately 83 percent of Graco shareowners voted for the good governance measure.

  • Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Canadian Indices

    Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Canadian Indices:

    • The shares of Merc International Minerals Inc. (TSXVN:MRK) will trade under the new name Nighthawk Gold Corp. in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of Monday, April 30, 2012. The new ticker symbol will be "NHK" and the new CUSIP number will be 65412D 10 6. There is no consolidation of capital.
