Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Canadian Indices

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Canadian Indices:
- The shares of Elgin Mining Inc. (TSXVN:ELG) will be removed from the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of Thursday, May 3, 2012. The company will graduate to trade on TSX under the same ticker symbol. There is no consolidation of capital.

Fifty years of rising living standards came to an end with the financial crisis. As a nation, we are now significantly worse off than we were four years ago. The crisis has cast a long shadow. Of course, the immediate challenge is to get our economy growing again. But fifty years from now will our grandchildren ask why we lacked the courage to put in place reforms to stop a crisis happening again? I hope not – and that’s why I want to speak to you tonight about the changes we need to make.

Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman today secured a jail sentence of 3 1/2 to 10 1/2 years for convicted securities fraudster Charles Raspa, whose scheme defrauded 800 victims out of more than $6.2 million in unlawful commissions, in violation of New York law. The sentence was handed down by Justice Marcy Kahn in State Supreme Court in Manhattan.

CBOE Holdings Reports April 2012 Trading Volume - CBOE Futures Exchange Records Second-Highest Average Daily Volume

CBOE Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: CBOE) today reported that April trading volume for options on theChicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and C2 Options Exchange (C2), combined, totaled 90.86 million contracts. April's average daily volume (ADV) was 4.54 million contracts, up one percent from April 2011 ADV of 4.48 million contracts and down six percent from March 2012 ADV of 4.85 million contracts.

April Trading At CBOE Futures Exchange Up 103% Over Year Ago - Average Daily Volume For Month Is Second-Highest All-Time

The CBOE Futures Exchange, LLC (CFE) today announced that trading volume during April 2012 totaled 1,692,624 contracts, an increase of 103 percent from the 834,892 contracts traded in April 2011. April 2012 ranks as the third busiest month in CFE history and marked the seventh time that total monthly volume surpassed the one million contract benchmark at CFE.
