BME - The Spanish Exchange - Turnover Reached €70.38bn In October, Up 44% On September

The number of equity trades in October reached 2.7 million, up 10% from September
Between January and October trading in Equities amounted to €599.48bn
As for the ETF segment, the number of trades to October was 49,040, up 31%
BME’s Derivatives market traded 4.63 million contracts in October, up 42% on the same period last year
Trading volume on the BME’s Corporate Debt market in October was up 64% from the previous month and reached €347.78bn.

MarketAxess To Acquire Xtrakter from Euroclear

MarketAxess Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: MKTX), the operator of a leading electronic trading platform for U.S. and European corporate bonds, emerging markets bonds and other types of fixed-income securities, has agreed to acquire Xtrakter Limited, a leading provider of regulatory transaction reporting, financial market data and trade matching services to the European securities markets. Xtrakter is a wholly owned subsidiary of Euroclear SA/NV.

HKEx Changes Of Designated Securities For Short Selling

The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), announces that with effect from 9 November 2012 (Friday), 22 additional securities will be eligible for short selling and 13 existing designated securities will be removed from the list. The total number of designated securities for short selling will be 576 after the revision.
Hong Kong's Securities And Futures Commission: Appointment To Investor Education Advisory Committee

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) announces the appointment of Mr Lee Kam Wing, Bruno and Mr Pan San Kong, Terry as a member and an alternate member respectively of the Investor Education Advisory Committee (IEAC) with effect from 1 November 2012. Mr Pan replaces Ms Lam Po Yee who stepped down from the committee on 16 October 2012. Mr Lee and Mr Pan represent the Hong Kong Investment Funds Association.
