Financial Stability Board Publishes Fourth Progress Report On Implementation Of OTC Derivatives Market Reforms

The Financial Stability Board (FSB) published today its fourth six-monthly progress report on the implementation of over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives market reforms. The report takes stock of the readiness of market infrastructure across the FSB’s member countries to provide clearing services, collect and disseminate trade data and provide organised trading platforms for OTC derivatives. The report also reviews the progress made by standard-setting bodies and national and regional authorities towards meeting the commitments made by G20Leaders at the Pittsburgh 2009 Summit that, by end-2012, all standardised OTC derivative contracts be traded on exchanges or electronic trading platforms, where appropriate, and cleared through central counterparties (CCPs); OTC derivative contracts be reported to trade repositories; and non-centrally cleared contracts be subject to higher capital requirements.

ESMA Publishes Its Annual Accounts For 2011

The annual accounts of the European Securities and Markets Authority for the year 2011 have been prepared in accordance with the Financial Regulation applicable to the general budget of the European Union and the accounting rules adopted by the Commission's Accounting Officer, as are to be applied by all the institutions, agencies and joint undertakings.

Increased Transparency For Bonds - SIX Swiss Exchange Introduces The Market Quality Metrics® Service Also For Bonds, Which Will Ensure Greater Comparability For Bond Trading

After SIX Swiss Exchange successfully introduced Market Quality Metrics® (MQM) in ETFs and ETPs and so made it possible to check pre-trade data, MQM is now being rolled out for bonds that are traded on SIX Swiss Exchange.

Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Global Markets Advisory Committee To Meet November 7, 2012 - Committee To Discuss Cross-Border Issues Related To OTC Derivatives Reform Implementation

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) will convene a meeting of its Global Markets Advisory Committee (GMAC) on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, to obtain the views of international regulators, futures industry professionals, and market participants on cross-border issues related to OTC derivatives reform implementation. There will be two panels, the first featuring regulators from around the globe and the second featuring GMAC members.
