EBRD Facilitates First Carbon Credit Transaction Between Slovak Republic And Spain

An innovative carbon credit transaction was concluded between the governments of the Slovak Republic and Spain. Under the terms of the agreement, the Slovak Republic has allocated the proceeds from the sale of seven million Assigned Amount Units (AAUs) towards additional greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction projects in the Slovak Republic. The transaction was structured under the Green Carbon Fund of the Multilateral Carbon Credit Fund (MCCF), established and managed jointly by the EBRD and the European Investment Bank (EIB). This will help Spain to meet its emission reduction target under the Kyoto Protocol, while the Slovak Republic will reinvest these funds to further decarbonise its economy.

BT today announced that it is working with leading Korean financial IT provider KOSCOM to build a ‘liquidity hub’ in Hong Kong, making it easier for global investors based in the city to trade on Korean financial markets. Due to be launched in July 2014, the hub will help Korea Exchange (KRX) — one of the world’s largest derivatives exchanges — to grow its business internationally.

HKFE Announces Revised Margins For Futures Contracts

Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong KongExchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has announced that with effect from the commencement of trading on Tuesday, 3 June 2014, the minimum margins to be collected by an Exchange Participant from its clients in respect of their dealings in the following futures contracts will be as outlined in the table below. The adjustments are based on the clearing company’s normal procedures and standard margining methodology.

Quality Of 2013 Information Disclosure Of Companies Listed In Shenzhen Stock Exchange Escalated As The ‘Express’ Advanced

Recently, SZSE has completed the appraisal on 2013 information disclosure of companies listed on the Main Board, SME Board, and the ChiNext Board. According to the appraisal result, information disclosure quality of companies listed on Shenzhen Market is overall satisfactory, with companies graded with A or B take up around 90 percent on each boards. Particularly, the proportion of public companies graded with A increases from 15.81% last year to 19.27% this year.

By the end of last week, Shenzhen Component Index stayed at 7240.9 points. SME Index edged up 1.9% to 4584.8 points. ChiNext Index advanced 5.7% to 1296.0 points. Total turnover for stocks and funds on SZSE was US$ 58.1 billion, or a 6.7% decrease from the week before.
