CFTC: Federal Court Orders Colorado Man Nicholas Trimble And His Two Companies, Capstone FX Quantitative Analysis, Inc. And Beekeepers Fund Capital Management, LLC, To Pay More Than $3.5 Million In Foreign Currency Fraud Action
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that it obtained federal court orders for more than $3.5 million in restitution and civil monetary penalties against Nicholas Trimble and his companies, Capstone FX Quantitative Analysis, Inc. (Capstone) and Beekeepers Fund Capital Management, LLC (Beekeepers), all of Denver, Colo., resolving the CFTC’s November 7, 2011, Complaint charging Trimble and the two companies with commodity pool and managed account fraud (see CFTC Press Release 6136-11, November 9, 2011).

CME Group Announces Open Interest In NYMEX Brent (BZ) Crude Oil Futures Surpasses 50,000 Contracts
CME Group, the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, announced it reached a record in open interest for its NYMEX Brent (BZ) crude oil futures contract yesterday, March 13, 2013. Open Interest for NYMEX Brent reached 51,642 contracts, compared to 49,305 onFebruary 28, 2013, the last record for this contract. Trading volume for this contract is also at record highs, with average daily volume for March at 28,846 contracts.

CFTC Revokes Registration Of Growth Capital Management LLC
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced the revocation of the registration of Growth Capital Management LLC (GCM) located in Rockwall, Texas. GCM had been registered with the CFTC as Commodity Pool Operator and Commodity Trading Advisor.

ISE Statement On Patent Infringement Case
In the case of International Securities Exchange, LLC (ISE) v. Chicago Board Options Exchange, Inc. (CBOE), case no. 07C623, presiding Judge Joan H. Lefkow has issued a series of pre-trial rulings in CBOE's favor, thus forcing ISE to cease pursuit of the case in the United State District Court, Northern District of Illinois, at the present time.

CBOE Wins In ISE Patent Suit
The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that the federal court in Chicago ended the trial on the International Securities Exchange's (ISE) patent suit. ISE had sued CBOE for alleged infringement of ISE's patent relating to an "automated exchange." By its action, ISE now concedes that CBOE does not infringe ISE's patent, based on several recent decisions in CBOE's favor.

CFTC Sues Michael Alcocer And His Company, Inovatrade, Inc., For Foreign Currency Fraud And Misappropriation - Defendants Allegedly Solicited Over $10.6 Million From More Than 400 Customers Worldwide
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced that it filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Michael Alcocer and his company InovaTrade, Inc. (InovaTrade). The CFTC complaint alleges that Alcocer and InovaTrade orchestrated a fraudulent scheme that, between November 2008 and September 2011, induced more than 400 customers to deposit more than $10.6 million with InovaTrade, a purported Retail Foreign Exchange Dealer (RFED), to trade off-exchange foreign currency (forex). The CFTC’s complaint was filed on September 21, 2012, and the CFTC recently served its lawsuit upon defendants in Panama.

EMCF And EUROCCP Combine Strengths To Create New Competitive Force In Pan-European Cash Equities Clearing - Industry To Benefit From Best Practices, Substantial Cost Savings And Collateral Efficiencies
The two largest pan-European cash equities clearing houses, EMCF and EuroCCP, today announced plans to combine their strengths and capabilities by forming a new entity that will deliver greater efficiencies and sustainable competition to the pan-European market place. The combined firm will provide best practices in a number of important areas, including risk management, technology, settlement and client service.
