    Information received since the Federal Open Market Committee met in April indicates that growth in economic activity has rebounded in recent months. Labor market indicators generally showed further improvement. The unemployment rate, though lower, remains elevated. Household spending appears to be rising moderately and business fixed investment resumed its advance, while the recovery in the housing sector remained slow. Fiscal policy is restraining economic growth, although the extent of restraint is diminishing. Inflation has been running below the Committee's longer-run objective, but longer-term inflation expectations have remained stable.

  • FESE General Assembly Appoints New Members Of The Board And New Chair And Vice Chair Of The Management Committee

    The FESE General Assembly met on Wednesday 18th  June in Zurich and unanimously approved the appointment of Lee Hodgkinson, Head of Markets & Global Sales, and Robin Jezek, Vice President, Head of Government Affairs, both from Euronext to the FESE Board replacing Roland Bellegarde and Mark MacGann, who recently stepped down from these positions.

    Consumer and investor protection is a common statutory objective of the three European Supervisory Authorities (ESAs) - the European Banking Authority (EBA), the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) and the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). As part of delivering on this objective, and following the first Joint ESAs Consumer Protection Day last year in Paris, the ESAs organised the second Joint ESAs Consumer Protection Day on 4 June 2014 in London.
