Q2 2014: Bonds Quarterly Statistics - The Latest Issue Of The "Bonds Quarterly Statistics" Report Looks At The Performance Of SIX Swiss Exchange's Bonds Segment In Q2 2014

Today, SIX Swiss Exchange published the latest edition of its Bonds Quarterly Statistics report[PDF]. In the second quarter 2014, turnover in the CHF bonds segment amounted to CHF 41.4 billion. This corresponds to an increase of 0.8% over the previous quarter. Compared to the same quarter in the previous year, the increase even amounts to 6.6%, despite a decline of transactions by -8.4% (to 124'614).

EGX Chairman Issues Decision No. 205 To Extend The Trading Hours To Be 4 & Half Hours - Discovery Session To Be From 9.30 To 10.00 Starting 7th Of August 2014 - Unifying Price Limits To Be 10% For The Main Market And 5% For NILEX In Both The Discovery Session And Trading Session

EGX Chairman, Dr. Mohamed Omran, issued decision no. 205 for year 2014 regarding the guidelines of the discovery session. The session will be launched on the 7th of August whereby it will be executed on daily basis before the trading session by half an hour in order to determine the opening price that reflects any modification took place since the closing of the previous day trading session.

Monetary Authority Of Singapore Proposes Stronger Safeguards For Investors

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) today released a consultation paper on proposals to enhance its regulatory framework for safeguarding investors’ interests. The key changes are as follows:
- extend to investors in non-conventional investment products the current regulatory safeguards available to investors in capital markets;
- require all investment products to be rated for complexity and risks, and for these ratings to be disclosed to investors; and
- provide accredited investors (AI1) the option to benefit from the full range of capital markets regulatory safeguards that are applicable for retail investors.

EGX Cancels Some Precautionary Measures

In accordance to the developments taking place in the Egyptian stock market, market stability and trading rates returning to its normal levels, the Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) decided (after coordinating with EFSA) to cancel some precautionary measures that were adopted after the revolution of January 2011. The market will be back to Price Discovery Session starting from August 7, 2014. Price limits for the main market will be10% and NILEX 5%.

Customers of Thomson Reuters Eikon can now access the Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME), the premier energy futures and commodities exchange in the Middle East. This announcement follows an earlier announced agreement between Thomson Reuters and CME Group, DME’s majority shareholder.
