NASDAQ OMX today announced that First Trust will launch a new exchange traded fund (ETF), First Trust Dorsey Wright International Focus 5 ETF (Symbol: IFV), which will be listed on The NASDAQ Stock Market® (NASDAQ®). IFV will begin trading on NASDAQ on Wednesday, July 23, 2014.

The Eastern Magistrates’ Court today convicted Mr Wong Pok Wang of 13 counts of manipulating the indicative equilibrium price (IEP) for eight derivative warrants and callable bull/bear contracts (CBBCs) during the Pre-opening Sessions between 15 October 2010 and 14 February 2011.

Chicago-based Allston Holdings LLC, parent of one of the nation’s leading proprietary electronic trading firms, today announced the appointment of Jill E. Sommers, former Commissioner of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), to its Board of Managers. Sommers stepped down from the U.S. derivatives regulatory agency last year.

Thai Bourse Continues To Foster Research On Thai Capital Markets

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET)'s Capital Market Research Institute (CMRI) organized a forum on “Earnings Management and Corporate Governance in Emerging Markets: Evidence from Thailand”. CMRI has consistently organized various research and development (R&D) activities and projects to benefit investors and Thai capital markets as a whole. For example, the capital market research forum is held monthly for researchers to present valuable findings to investors, listed companies and the media, as well as acting as a forum for capital market experts to exchange views on topical issues. The research symposium is held annually and is attended by prominent capital market researchers, experts and professionals. On top of this, SET recently initiated a special program with 16 faculties from 10 universities in order to foster research on capital markets.

Last week, Shenzhen Component Index stood at 7259.4 points after adding 0.7%. SME Index closed at 4669.8 points after losing 0.9%. ChiNext Index was down 3.9% to 1305.9 points. Total turnover for stocks and funds on SZSE was US$ 99.2 billion, or a 5.8% decrease from the week before.
