And thank you to Professor Grundfest for inviting me here today. Joe, you have been a dear friend for a very long time, and I truly appreciate your wise counsel and much-needed support during my tenure on the Commission. I hope this breakfast keynote sets the tone for a productive final day of this conference — or at least doesn’t give everyone indigestion. I’m proud for this to be one of my last speeches as an SEC Commissioner.

SEC Charges Unregistered Brokers In EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged two firms that illegally brokered more than $79 million of investments by foreigners seeking U.S. residency.  The charges are the first against brokers handling investments in the government’s EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program and follow earlier SEC actions against fraudulent EB-5 offerings.

Irish Stock Exchange: Trinity Biotech, The International Diagnostics Company, Lists $100m Bond

Trinity Biotech has listed a US$100m bond on the Irish Stock Exchange (ISE). The senior notes, due 2045, have a coupon rate of 4% and are listed on the Global Exchange Market (GEM).
