  • SWX Swiss Exchange - Concrete Steps in the Direction of Internationalisation

    For the SWX Swiss Exchange, 1999 represents the year of internationalisation. For the first time, foreign participants have commenced active trading on SWX. As a result of foreign investors' having been freed of Swiss stamp tax on Eurobond transactions as of 1 April, SWX Eurobonds has established itself as a bridge between interbank dealings in London and investors in Switzerland. Following a full year of product development, SWX initiated electronic trading in repurchase agreements in mid-June.

    MacroVision, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Stock Exchange of Singapore (SES), is pleased to announce that it has developed a voice-activated trading system using speech recognition technology. The system will be implemented over two phases.

  • New Indexes to be added to Dow Jones Datafeed

    On September 8, 1999, seven new indexes will be disseminated over the Dow Jones datafeed of the Chicago Board of Trade market data ticker network. These additions include three new Dow Jones Islamic Market Indexes and four new indexes from the Dow Jones family of indexes, The Dow Jones Sustainability Group Indexes.

    The London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (LIFFE) will today list the second of its STIR contracts, the Three Month Short Sterling futures contract, on LIFFE CONNECT™, following the successful listing of Three Month Euroswiss futures contract on August 23.
