Singapore Fixed Income Indices (SFI) Weekly - 15 September 2014

Below are key highlights for the week ending 12 September 2014 (please click on the attachment for further detail):
- The SFI declined 0.59% to 118.20.
- YTD, the STI currently outperforms the SFI by 2.88%.
- Decline in the SFI was largely attributed to a fall in the SFI Government Bond Index (-0.98%). The SFI Corporate Bond Index was unchanged.
- The SFI Financial Bond Index has gained steadily throughout 2014 (+4.04% YTD). As of the end of August, the index has advanced (monthly basis) in all eight months in 2014.
- The number of debt issuances represented by the SFI has grown at a 5-year CAGR of 19.1%.

Xetra/Börse Frankfurt: New Source ETF Launched In XTF Segment On Xetra - First ETF With Access To JPX-Nikkei Index 400

HKEx, LME And LME Clear Sign MoU With CCB

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), HKEx Group companies the London Metal Exchange (LME) and LME Clear Limited, and China Construction Bank Corporation (CCB) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on 11 September 2014 for strategic cooperation in the development of new products, joint publicity and marketing and other areas.

Euronext Commodities Exceed 1 Million Lots

Euronext today announced that for the first time since its separation from Liffe, Euronext open interest commodities exceeded 1 million lots on 11thSeptember 2014. This is a 16% increase year on year.

Xetra/Börse Frankfurt: Subscription Launch For Eyemaxx Real Estate AG Bond In The Entry Standard

Eyemaxx Real Estate AG is issuing a corporate bond in the Entry Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The bond with the ISIN DE000A12T374 can be subscribed from today until 26 September 2014, subject to early termination of subscription. It has an issue volume of up to €30 million, with a public offering and a swap offer for owners of the previous 7.875 Eyemaxx-III-bond of up to €15 million each. The corporate bond runs until March 2020 and has a coupon rate of 8 percent. Its nominal denomination is €1,000.

SGX China A50 Index Futures In Focus

- Following last weekend data, the FTSE China A50 Index is currently off 0.5%, trading below 7,300. Ahead of the data, China equities were observed to be attracting inflows from foreign investors.
- Some resonation was observed in SGX China A50 Index Futures. These futures contracts act as a proxy for the Chinese A-shares, and saw a healthy spike in interest in August, with open interest hitting a high of 532,003 on 25 August 2014.
- Hong Kong-Shanghai Stock Connect is anticipated to boost trading in China’s onshore markets and the SGX China A50 Index Futures. The futures tracks the performance of the underlying FTSE China A50 Index, which has a 97% correlation with the SSE180 Index.

BATS Chi-X Europe And BX Swiss Partner To Bring Greater Competition To The Swiss Equities Market

BATS Chi-X Europe (BATS), Europe’s largest stock exchange by value traded and BX Swiss (BX), Switzerland’s only independent exchange, have announced a partnership agreement that will bring greater competition and enhanced market efficiencies to the Swiss equities market.
