ASIC: ANZ Admits Widespread Misconduct And Agrees To Pay $240 Million In Penalties

Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ) has admitted to engaging in unconscionable conduct in services it provided to the Australian Government, incorrectly reporting its bond trading data to the Australian Government by overstating the volumes by tens of billions of dollars and to widespread misconduct across products and services impacting nearly 65,000 customers.

Joint Statement From US Treasury Secretary Bessent And Ambassador Greer On Emergency G7 Finance Call

During today's call with G7 Finance Ministers, Secretary Bessent reiterated President Trump's call to our G7 partners that, if they are truly committed to ending the war in Ukraine, they should join the United States in imposing tariffs on countries purchasing oil from Russia. Secretary Bessent and Ambassador Greer also welcomed commitments to increase sanctions pressure and explore using immobilized Russian sovereign assets to further benefit Ukraine’s defense.
