CME Group Inc., the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, and GFI Group Inc., a leading intermediary and provider of trading technologies and support services to the global OTC and listed markets, today announced that they have received all of the material regulatory approvals necessary to close the previously announced acquisition of GFI Group by CME.  The transaction remains subject to the approval of GFI Group's stockholders; GFI Group will hold a special meeting of its stockholders on January 27, 2015 to vote on the transaction.

37.2 TWh Traded On EPEX SPOT – New All-Time High - Records On German And French Day-Ahead And Intraday Power Markets

In December 2014, a total volume of 37.2 TWh was traded on EPEX SPOT’s Day-Ahead and Intraday power markets (December 2013: 31.6 TWh). Several market segments contributed to this upsurge which exceeds the previous record from March 2014 (33.4 TWh) by 3.8 TWh (+11.4%). In both Germany and France, record volumes on Day-Ahead and Intraday markets were registered, reflecting the trust of trading participants in the markets of the European Power Exchange.
