MGEX Board Appoints Public Directors, Officers, Committee Assignments

At its October 27, 2015, Organizational Meeting, the MGEX Board of Directors named 2015-2016 public directors, named Board officers and approved committee assignments.

Thank you, Alan [Beller], for that generous introduction. I am very pleased to be here to help kick off the 47th Annual Securities Regulation Institute. As some of you know, I am no stranger to this program, nor is the SEC staff. I have participated since my early days as U.S. Attorney, and its tremendous success is largely due to its tireless organizers. For many years, that work was led by Anita Shapiro, who is now the President of PLI, along with Laura Shields. Laura has now taken over from Anita, and she will surely continue the program’s record of excellence. Thank you both for all that you do to make this program such a great one year after year.
Singapore’s OCBC Bank To Issue Letters Of Credit For Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME) Trading

Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME) has announced that Singapore-headquartered OCBC Bank has become the latest global banking institution to receive approval for issuing Letters of Credit (LCs) for trading on the Exchange.
SEC Bars Brokers Who Played Favorites To Double Their Commissions

The Securities and Exchange Commission today barred two brokers at a now-defunct Connecticut brokerage for giving customer order information to certain favored customers, helping those customers get better prices while generating extra commissions for their firm. The SEC also ordered the brokers to pay financial penalties.

Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME) Reaches Milestone Of 9 Billion Barrels Traded Through

The Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME) announced today that it has now reached the 9 billion barrel mark, with a total of 9 million contracts (eqv. 9 billion barrels) traded on the Exchange.
General Body Of Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) Approved The Scheme Of Integration

Pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Exchanges for the creation of the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the general body of the LSE has approved the Scheme of Integration of the LSE with the KSE as well as the consequential changes in the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the LSE to convert the residual Company in to a Non-Banking Finance Company as from the effective date to be announced by the SECP.
