Moscow Exchange: T+2 Settlement Cycle To Be Introduced For U.S. Dollar-Denominated Eurobonds

Moscow Exchange will allow deferred settlement and the absence of full prefunding requirement for U.S. dollar-denominated Eurobonds from 25 January. Sovereign Eurobonds, corporate Eurobonds and Russian bonds denominated in USD will be traded with T+2 settlement. This settlement cycle will replace T0 settlement in USD for those instruments.

CME Group Announces Successful Launch Of Ultra 10-Year Futures

CME Group, the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, today announced the successful launch of Ultra 10-Year U.S. Treasury Note futures and options. The total volume through the first four trading days was 60,968 contracts with participation from more than 80 firms. Open interest reached 20,041 as of Jan. 14. Trading volume and open interest in this new contract has increased each day. Trading was active during all three global trading sessions, with the first trades taking place during the opening of the Asian session, shortly after 5 p.m. CT on Sunday, Jan. 10.

UK's Prudential Regulation Authority Takes Enforcement Action Against Former Co-op Bank Individuals

The Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) has today prohibited Barry Tootell, the former Chief Executive (CEO) of the Co-operative Bank Plc (Co-op Bank) and Keith Alderson, the former Managing Director of the Co-op Bank’s Corporate and Business Banking Division, from holding a significant influence function in a PRA-authorised firm for breaches related to the running of the Co-op Bank. The PRA has also fined Mr Tootell £173,802 and Mr Alderson £88,890.

Hong Kong's Securities And Futures Commission: Court Freezes Bank Accounts Of Suspected Boiler Rooms

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) today obtained interim injunctions in the Court of First Instance freezing approximately $600,000 in bank accounts suspected of receiving monies from investors of alleged frauds known as boiler rooms.

China Becomes EBRD Member As Suma Chakrabarti Visits Beijing

China has become the 67th member of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Following the completion of all the formalities, the announcement was made after a meeting between the EBRD President Sir Suma Chakrabarti and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang in Beijing on 15 January.

Hong Kong Court Of First Instance Finds Two Solicitors Engaged In Insider Dealing And Fraud Or Deception

The Court of First Instance today found that two solicitors, Mr Eric Lee Kwok Wa and Ms Betty Young Bik Fung, and Eric Lee’s sister, Ms Patsy Lee Siu Ying, contravened the Securities and Futures Ordinance (SFO) by insider dealing in the shares of Asia Satellite Telecommunications Holdings Ltd (Asia Satellite) and engaged in fraud or deception in transactions involving securities of Hsinchu International Bank Company Ltd (Hsinchu Bank).
