CFTC Further Implements Trade Execution Requirement

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (CFTC) Division of Market Oversight (Division) today further extended the time-limited no-action relief for swaps executed as part of a package transaction in the categories, described below, that currently receive relief under CFTC Letter 15-55. This extension, announced in CFTC Letter 16-76, will enable the Division to continue assessing the appropriate response for applying the trade execution requirement to swaps in certain types of package transactions.

OCC Cleared Contract Volume Down 13 Percent In October - Securities Lending Activity Up 33 Percent In October And 38 Percent Year-To-Date

OCC, the world's largest equity derivatives clearing organization, announced today that cleared contract volume in October was 318,439,491 contracts, a 13 percent decrease from October 2015 monthly volume of 367,647,983 contracts. Average daily volume at OCC is down three percent year-to-date in 2016 with 16,367,412 contracts. OCC's stock loan program reported that securities lending activity was up 33 percent in October and 38 percent year-to-date.

As part of the Capital Market Authority’s responsibilities to protect  the market   from unfair and unsound practices involving cheating, fraud and manipulation. In addition, to ensure fairness, efficiency and transparency in securities transactions, and based on Article (17) of the Capital Market Law, the CMA would like to inform the investors and participants in the capital market that a CMA Board resolution was issued to refer a suspicion of a violation to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution. (8) investors  were suspected of violating Article (49) of the Capital Market Law and Article (2) of the Market Conduct Regulations while trading the shares of a number of companies listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange.
