  • UK's Financial Conduct Authority: Temporary Restriction In Short Selling

    The Financial Conduct Authority (“FCA”) notifies that it temporarily prohibits short selling in the following instrument under Articles 23 (1) and 26 (4) of Regulation (EU) No 236/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 March 2012. This follows a decision made by another EU Competent Authority.

  • Nasdaq, Inc. Announces Proposed Senior Notes Offering

    Nasdaq, Inc. (the “Company”) (Nasdaq:NDAQ) today announced that it plans to commence a public offering of U.S. dollar-denominated senior notes pursuant to an effective shelf registration statement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (the “SEC”, and such offering, the “Offering”). The Company expects to use the net proceeds from the Offering, together with cash on hand and/or borrowings under the Company’s senior credit facility, to fund the cash consideration payable by the Company for its acquisition of 100% of the equity interests in U.S. Exchange Holdings, Inc. (the indirect owner of three electronic options exchanges: International Securities Exchange, ISE Gemini and ISE Mercury) (the “ISE Transaction”) and related expenses and for general corporate purposes, which may include, without limitation, the repayment of indebtedness or the funding of other future acquisitions. 

  • Dutch Authority For The Financial Markets Investigates A Couple Of High Frequency Trading Strategies

    As announced in its activity agenda for 2015, the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) conducted an in-depth investigation into the trading strategies of high-frequency traders (HFTs) and their interaction with the trading infrastructure. As part of its investigation, the AFM documented the criticisms levelled at high-frequency trading, and studied two criticised trading strategies. The AFM is publishing the results of this investigation today.

  • EEX To Launch Non-MTF Power Futures

    As announced in the customer information on 9 February and on 11 April, EEX intends to launch additional trading venues (non-MTFs) for German and French power derivatives in response to on-going MiFID II legislation.
