  • Finansinspektionen Decides On Stress Test Methodology For Determining The Capital Planning Buffer

    FI has now decided on the stress test methodology that will be used for determining the capital planning buffer for the largest Swedish bank companies. The methodology, which is described in more detail it in a new memorandum, is based on the proposal that FI published on the 9 May.

  • Saudi Arabia's Capital Market Authority: An Announcement Of The Issuance Of The Board Of The CMA Resolution To Adopt The Amended Rules For Qualified Foreign Financial Institutions Investment In Listed Securities

    As part of the Capital Market Authority's efforts to develop the capital market in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and based on CMA's strategic objectives to develop the capital market, and to expand the institutional investments, and in line with the National Transformation Program and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, and based on the Capital Market Law issued by the Royal Decree Number (M/30) Dated 2/6/1424H, the CMA Board has issued its Resolution number 3-104-2016 dated 5/11/1437H corresponding to 8/8/2016G that includes the following:
     
    a) The adoption of the amended Rules for Qualified Foreign Financial Institutions Investment in Listed Securities (the Rules).
    b) The Rules referred to in paragraph (a) above shall be published, and shall become effective from the date of 3/12/1437H corresponding to 4/9/2016G
    c) The current Rules for Qualified Foreign Financial Institutions Investment in Listed Shares issued by the CMA Board of Commissioner`s Resolution number (1-42-2015) dated 15/7/1436H corresponding to 4/5/2015G will continue to be effective until the effective date of the Rules referred to in paragraph (a) above.
    d) The approved client of a qualified foreign investor is allowed to register as a qualified foreign investor by signing the undertaking form approved by the CMA.
    e) The approved client of a qualified foreign investor is granted with a grace period until 1/11/2016G to register as a qualified foreign investor, without prejudice to the obligations and responsibilities of the relevant qualified foreign investor in regards to such client during that period.
     
    The purpose of these Rules is to set out the procedures, requirements and conditions for the registration of qualified foreign investors with the Authority to invest in listed securities, and to specify their obligations and the obligations of authorised persons in this regard. When updating the Rules, international best practices and standards have been taken into consideration in order to achieve the desired goals, as well as concerned and interested parties comments and observations.

  • Nigerian Stock Exchange Revises Bond Listing And Trading Fees

    Under the revised fee structure, the NSE will no longer charge trading fees on fixed income traded on its platform. The initial flat listing application fees of 0.15% for all bond types has been replaced with variable listing application fees. With this, Corporate Bonds exclusively listed on the NSE, with existing equity listing, will attract 0.01% listing application fee. Dual listed Corporate Bonds with existing equity listing and other Corporate Bonds will attract 0.0375% listing application fees. Similarly, the listing application fees for State and Supranational Bonds has been reduced to 0.05%.

  • SGX Welcomes The World’s First Green Corporate Masala Bond

    Singapore Exchange (SGX) today welcomed the listing of the world’s first green corporate Masala bond from NTPC Limited (NTPC), India’s largest energy conglomerate. NTPC raised Rs. 20 billion (USD 300 million) from issuance of this five-year green bond with a coupon rate of 7.375% per annum.

    The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged Merrill Robertson Jr., a former player for the Philadelphia Eagles, with defrauding investors, including coaches he knew from his time playing football for the Fork Union Military Academy and the University of Virginia.

  • Deutsche Boerse Shares Replaced By Deutsche Boerse Tendered Shares In STOXX Indices

    STOXX Ltd., the operator of Deutsche Boerse Group’s index business, and a global provider of innovative and tradable index concepts, today announced adjustments in several STOXX indices. As a result of the expected merger with London Stock Exchange, the Deutsche Boerse shares (DE0005810055, Financial Services, Germany) in the STOXX Global 1800, STOXX Europe 600, and sub-indices will be replaced with the Deutsche Boerse Tendered shares (DE000A2AA253, Financial Services, Germany). This change will be effective Aug. 15, 2016.

  • Kristin Snyder Named Co-Head Of SEC’s Investment Adviser - Investment Company Examination Program

    The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that Kristin Snyder has been named Co-National Associate Director of the Investment Adviser/Investment Company examination program in the Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations (OCIE).  She joins Co-National Associate Director Jane Jarcho who has led the program since August 20, 2013 and was named OCIE’s Deputy Director on February 3, 2016.  Together, Ms. Jarcho and Ms. Snyder oversee more than 520 lawyers, accountants, and examiners responsible for inspections of SEC registered investment advisers and investment companies.

    The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that an Atlanta-based building products distributor is settling charges that it violated securities laws by using severance agreements that required outgoing employees to waive their rights to monetary recovery should they file a charge or complaint with the SEC or other federal agencies.
