European Commission - Mergers: Commission Opens In-Depth Investigation Into Proposed Deutsche Börse/LSE Merger

The European Commission has opened an in-depth investigation to assess, under the EU Merger Regulation, whether the proposed merger between Deutsche Börse AG (DB) and London Stock Exchange Group (LSE) would reduce competition in several financial market infrastructure areas.

HKEX Publishes Further Information On Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect To Facilitate Business And Technical Preparation

As part of the market communication plan for Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect (Shenzhen Connect), the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (SEHK) and Hong Kong Securities Clearing Company Limited (HKSCC), wholly-owned subsidiaries of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX), today (Wednesday) published the revised Information Book, Frequently Asked Questions and the proposed amendments to the Rules of the Exchange (the SEHK Rules), the General Rules of CCASS (CCASS Rules) and the CCASS Operational Procedures (CCASS OPs) in relation to Shenzhen Connect with a view to facilitating their Participants’ business and technical preparation for the programme.

Pursuant to Circular No. (32) of 2016 issued by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) on Al Hijri New Year holiday for UAE ministries and federal bodies, the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) announced, in a press release, that Sunday, October 02, is a holiday for financial markets after having conferred with them. Trading resumes on the morning of Monday, October 03.
