I am grateful for the invitation to speak to you today about how U.S. monetary policy affects the global economy and how foreign economic events affect U.S. monetary policy. Given the importance of the United States in international trade and in the global financial system, the monetary policy actions of the Federal Reserve influence the global economy through a wide range of trade and financial channels. As I will discuss, each foreign economy may be affected quite differently by U.S. monetary policy actions, and each may view spillovers from U.S. monetary policy as desirable or undesirable. Even so, I am reasonably confident that the spillovers from ongoing U.S. monetary policy normalization will generally prove manageable for foreign economies.

HKEX: Changes Of Designated Securities For Short Selling

The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX), announces that with effect from 18 November, 2016 (Friday), 37 additional securities will be eligible for short selling and 28 existing designated securities will be removed from the list. The total number of designated securities for short selling will be 882 after the revision.

Oslo Børs: Decommission Of FIX/FAST Feed For Equities – New Effective Date

Oslo Børs announced yesterday the decision to decommission the FIX/FAST market data feed for the equities market. The implementation date was set to the go-live date for the Millennium 9.1 release. However, based on feedback from clients we have decided to allow clients more time to implement the necessary changes, thus the effective date has been moved to Monday 8 May 2017. This implies that the FIX/FAST gateways will be switched off after market close on Friday 5 May 2017.

(a) Listing Rule 703(1) for the failure to promptly announce the significant customer claim of RMB290 million; and
(b) Listing Rule 719(1) for the failure to put in place a robust internal control to address financial, operational and compliance risks.
