ETFGI, the leading independent research and consultancy firm on trends in the global ETF/ETP ecosystem, reported today following on from January’s strong start to the year assets invested in ETFs/ETPs listed globally reached a new record high of US$3.844 trillion at the end February 2017 surpassing the prior record of US$3.689 trillion set at the end of January 2017.

ECB Monetary Policy Decisions

At today’s meeting the Governing Council of the ECB decided that the interest rate on the main refinancing operations and the interest rates on the marginal lending facility and the deposit facility will remain unchanged at 0.00%, 0.25% and -0.40% respectively. The Governing Council continues to expect the key ECB interest rates to remain at present or lower levels for an extended period of time, and well past the horizon of the net asset purchases.

Hong Kong's Securities And Futures Commission: Implementation Of Expanded Short Position Reporting

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) reminds market participants that with effect from 15 March 2017, reporting will be required for reportable short positions in all Designated Securities eligible for short selling specified by The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (Note 1). This follows the completion of a two-month pilot test of the Short Position Reporting Service.
